NCBI Description of TNNI3K

This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the MAP kinase kinase kinase (MAPKKK) family of protein kinases. The protein contains ankyrin repeat, protein kinase and serine-rich domains and is thought to play a role in cardiac physiology. ;This locus represents naturally occurring read-through transcription from the neighboring fucose-1-phosphate guanylyltransferase (FPGT) and TNNI3 interacting kinase (TNNI3K) genes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants that are composed of in-frame exons from each individual gene.

• "Mouse over" a mutation to see details.
• Missense green saturation indicates evolutionary conservation of the mutated positions.
• Red hashes in protein strip are splice sites.
• Blue-white-red bars are log2 copy ratio distributions (–1 to +1) from Zack et al. (2013).
